The three varying firmness options of the Alexander Signature Hybrid all make use of the same general structure, but with somewhat varying densities and foams. Each bed starts with 8 inches of individually-pocketed support coils. The second layer is 1 inch of “SmartFlow” support polyfoam, that is intended to improve airflow and aids with heat retention. Each firmness level makes use of 3 PCF (pounds per cubic foot foam within this layer. The subsequent layer is 1.5 inches of either 2.5 PCF copper-treated “Energex” polyfoam (Plush), 3.5 PCF copper-treated Energex polyfoam (Medium) or 4.5 PCF slow-recovery memory foam (Luxury Firm). The final layer is 1.5” of “TitanChil” cooling polyfoam. The bed cover is 1.5” of 4 PCF gel-infused memory foam within a quilted, cooling fabric. This gives a gentle texture.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid is available in three firmness settings: Plush (3), Medium (5) and a Luxury Firm (8). Firmness level is measured on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being the least firm and 10 being the most firm. You can select between Plush, Medium, and Luxury firm. Weight will make an impact on what works for you. Generally, heavier people prefer firmer mattresses while lighter people usually discover they can obtain more hug and contour on plusher beds.
Hybrids usually do not isolate motion as well as all-foam mattresses typically do, because springs permit motion to more easily move across the surface of the bed. The Alexander Signature Hybrid, however, has various foam layers above its inner-springs. These layers aid the bed absorb motion to a large extent. As soon as I moved next to my partner, you couldn’t see much movement in her body. She said that she could feel it, although it was minimal. In spite of this, the bed still features good bounce.
In case you have mobility problems, moving around in a reclined position can be challenging. Traditional memory foam frequently caused a lot of sinkage that it made it hard to move around. However, if you have too much bounce, it’s easy to disturb sleep.
You will experience some sinkage with the Alexander Signature Hybrid because of its plush foam uppermost layers. However, this sinking feeling is different from what you would receive with a more traditional memory foam mattress as it’s mitigated by the bed’s supportive pocketed coil system. Meaning you’ll sink, but will still have the ability to move around easily and get out of the bed without too much problem. While there’s some sinkage here, it is not quite as dramatic as it would be about a conventional memory foam bed. This makes for great pressure relief without that stuck-in-the-bed experience.
The inner-spring coil support core of the Alexander Signature Hybrid functions to fortify its edges. This produces a level sleeping surface across the entire bed and helps prevent sinkage and sagging around the edge of the mattress. The inner-spring coils are excellent at setting that firm foundation you want. When I moved in various positions, I felt pretty well-supported. I could feel and you can actually witness where I do sink in a quite a bit, but the sinkage from the mattress ends where the coils start. Despite the plush foam top layers, this bed is impressively supportive, due to the eight inches of pocketed coils at its core. It’s super effortless to get in and out of the mattress, and I’m well–supported when I lay on the edge, a big benefit for sleep partners.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid is quite cool. The inner-spring coils permit sufficient airflow, aiding to reduce body heat. The foam layers, which usually trap heat, are infused with copper and cooling gel to prevent this common problem. This bed is a great match for people who need to sleep cool. This hybrid does a wonderful job of dispersing and isolating warmth, resulting in a resting experience that’s marvelously cool.

Whenever a mattress is compressed and vacuum-sealed, it tends to produce a temporary odor when it is unboxed.
