In my opinion, the Alex Signature Series (memory foam) and the Alex Signature Hybrid are great mattresses, especially given the price.

The 3 distinct firmness settings of the Alexander Signature Hybrid all make use of the same general structure, but with slightly varying foams and densities. Each bed starts with 8 inches of individually-wrapped support coils. The next layer is 1 inch of “SmartFlow” support polyfoam, that is intended to improve airflow and assists with heat retention. Each firmness level makes use of 3 PCF (pounds per cubic foot foam in this layer. The following layer is 1.5” of either 2.5 PCF copper-treated “Energex” polyfoam (Plush), 3.5 PCF copper-treated Energex polyfoam (Medium) or 4.5 PCF slow-recovery memory foam (Luxury Firm). The last layer is 1.5” of “TitanChil” cooling polyfoam. The bed cover is 1.5 inches of 4 PCF gel-infused memory foam inside a quilted, cooling fabric. This provides a gentle feel.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid is offered in three firmness settings: Plush (3), Medium (5) and a Luxury Firm (8). Firmness level is based on a scale of 1-10, with 1 being the least firm and 10 being the firmest. You can choose between Plush, Medium, and Luxury firm. Weight is going to make an impact on what works for you. Generally, heavier people fare better with firmer beds while lighter people usually find they can achieve more hug and shape on plusher mattresses.
Hybrids usually don’t isolate movement as well as all-foam beds usually do, due to the fact that springs allow motion to more easily transfer across the surface of the mattress. The Alexander Signature Hybrid, however, has various foam layers on top of its springs. These layers aid the mattress absorb motion to a sizeable extent. When I turned and tossed next to my partner, you could not see much motion in her body. She mentioned that she could feel it, but it was minimal. Despite this, the mattress still displays exceptional bounce.
In case you have mobility issues, moving around in a reclined position can be hard. Traditional memory foam often caused so much sinkage that it made it challenging to move around. But if you have too much bounce, it’s easy to disturb sleep.
You may experience some sinkage using the Alexander Signature Hybrid because of its soft foam top layers. But this sinking feeling differs from what you would get with a more conventional memory foam mattress as it’s reduced by the mattress’ supportive pocketed coil system. This means you will sink, but will still be able to move around easily and get out of the mattress without too much work. While there’s some sinkage here, it is not as striking as it would be about a normal memory foam mattress. This makes for excellent pressure relief with no stuck-in-the-bed experience.
The inner-spring coil support foundation of the Alexander Signature Hybrid functions to fortify its perimeter. This produces a flat sleeping surface across the entire bed and helps prevent sagging and sinkage at the perimeter of the bed. The inner-spring coils are excellent at setting that strong base you require. When I moved in various positions, I felt very well-supported. I can feel and you could actually witness where I do sink in a little bit, but the sinkage from the bed ends where the spring coils start. Despite the plush foam uppermost layers, this mattress is very supportive, due to the eight inches of pocketed coils in its base. It is quite easy to get in and out of the mattress, and I’m well–supported when I lay on the edge, a great advantage for sleep partners.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid is relatively cool. The inner-spring coils permit enough airflow, aiding to reduce body warmth. The foam layers, which usually trap warmth, are treated with cooling gel and copper to prevent this frequent problem. This bed is a good match for people who prefer to rest cool. This hybrid does a great job of dispersing and isolating warmth, leading to a sleeping feeling that is wonderfully cool.
Nest Bedding Review
Once an Alexander Signature Hybrid mattress is manufactured, it is compressed, vacuum-sealed in plastic and delivered to your doorstep in a box that is marked. Whenever a mattress is compressed and vacuum-sealed, it tends to produce a temporary odor when it is unboxed. This odor is known as “off-gassing.” You should expect to see this with the Alexander Signature Hybrid, but the odor should disappear fast.
