This variant is more pricey because of the addition of the topper. The ‘Medium’ and ‘Firm’ variants forgo the topper; the ‘Medium’ has a gentle Dunlop latex comfort layer and a firm Dunlop latex support core, while the ‘Firm’ uses a firm Dunlop latex comfort layer and a soft Dunlop latex support core.
In my opinion, the Alex Signature Series (memory foam) and the Alex Signature Hybrid are impressive mattresses, especially given the price.

The three varying firmness levels of the Alexander Signature Hybrid all make use of the same general structure, but with somewhat different densities and foams. Each mattress starts with 8 inches of individually-wrapped support coils. The next layer is 1 inch of “SmartFlow” support polyfoam, that’s made to add airflow and helps with heat retention. Each firmness level uses 3 PCF (pounds per cubic foot foam within this layer. The subsequent layer is 1.5 inches of either 2.5 PCF copper-treated “Energex” polyfoam (Plush), 3.5 PCF copper-treated Energex polyfoam (Medium) or 4.5 PCF slow-recovery memory foam (Luxury Firm). The final layer is 1.5” of “TitanChil” cooling polyfoam. The bed cover is 1.5” of 4 PCF gel-infused memory foam within a quilted, cooling fabric. This provides a soft feel.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid is offered in three firmness levels: Plush (3), Medium (5) and a Luxury Firm (8). Firmness is based on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the most firm and 1 being the least firm. You can choose between Plush, Medium, and Luxury firm. Weight will make an impact on what you would prefer. Generally, heavier people prefer firmer beds while lighter people generally discover they can achieve more hug and shape on plusher mattresses.
Hybrids usually don’t isolate motion as well as all-foam beds typically do, due to the fact that inner-springs allow motion to more easily transfer through the surface of the bed. The Alexander Signature Hybrid, however, has various foam layers on top of its inner-springs. These layers aid the mattress absorb motion to a significant extent. When I tossed and turned next to my colleague, you could not identify much motion in her body. She said that she could feel the movement, although detection was minimal. Despite this, the mattress still displays impressive bounce.
In case you have mobility difficulties, moving around in a reclined position can be hard. Classic memory foam often caused so much sinkage that it made it challenging to move around. However, if you have too much rebound, it’s easy to disturb rest.
You will experience some sinkage using the Alexander Signature Hybrid due to its plush foam top layers. However, this sinking feeling differs from what you’d obtain with a more conventional memory foam mattress as it is mitigated by the bed’s supportive pocketed coil system. This means you’ll sink, but will still be able to move around conveniently and get out of the bed without too much problem. While there’s some sinkage here, it is not quite as striking as it would be about a normal memory foam bed. This creates exceptional pressure relief without that stuck-in-the-bed experience.
The inner-spring coil support core of the Alexander Signature Hybrid works to reinforce its perimeter. This provides an even sleeping surface across the whole mattress and helps prevent sinkage and sagging around the perimeter of the bed. The spring coils are exceptional at providing that solid core you need. When I moved in a variety of positions, I felt very well-supported. I can feel and you can actually see where I do sink in a quite a bit, but the sinkage from the bed abruptly ends where the inner-spring coils begin. In spite of the plush foam top layers, this bed is quite supportive, due to the 8 inches of pocketed coils in its core. It is very effortless to get in and out of the mattress, and I’m well–supported when I lay on the edge, a big benefit for sleeping partners.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid is quite cool. The inner-spring coils permit ample airflow, aiding to diminish body warmth. The foam layers, which in most cases trap heat, are infused with cooling gel and copper to counteract this common problem. This bed is a fantastic pick for those who need to sleep cool. This hybrid does a great job of isolating and dispersing warmth, leading to a resting experience that’s wonderfully cool.

Once an Alexander Signature Hybrid mattress is manufactured, it’s compressed, vacuum-sealed in plastic and sent to your doorstep in a marked box. Every time a mattress is compressed and vacuum-sealed, it tends to emit a temporary smell when it’s unboxed. This smell is called “off-gassing.” You should anticipate to experience this with the Alexander Signature Hybrid, however, the odor should fade immediately.
