The 3 different firmness settings of the Alexander Signature Hybrid all use the same basic structure, but with somewhat varying foams and densities. Each mattress starts with 8 inches of individually-wrapped support coils. The next layer is 1 inch of “SmartFlow” support polyfoam, that’s intended to improve airflow and aids with heat retention. Each firmness level makes use of 3 PCF (pounds per cubic foot foam in this layer. The subsequent layer is 1.5 inches of either 2.5 PCF copper-treated “Energex” polyfoam (Plush), 3.5 PCF copper-infused Energex polyfoam (Medium) or 4.5 PCF slow-recovery memory foam (Luxury Firm). The last layer is 1.5” of “TitanChil” cooling polyfoam. The mattress cover is 1.5” of 4 PCF gel-infused memory foam inside a quilted, cooling cloth. This provides a gentle feel.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid is available in three firmness levels: Plush (3), Medium (5) and a Luxury Firm (8). Firmness is measured on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the most firm and 1 being the least firm. You can choose between Plush, Medium, and Luxury firm. Weight will make an impact on what you would prefer. Generally, heavier people fare better with firmer mattresses while lighter people usually discover they can obtain more hug and contour on softer mattresses.
Hybrids usually don’t isolate motion as well as all-foam beds typically do, due to the fact that inner-springs allow motion to more easily transfer through the surface of the mattress. The Alexander Signature Hybrid, though, has various foam layers above its springs. These foam layers help the mattress absorb motion to a large extent. As soon as I moved next to my colleague, you could not see much motion in her body. She said that she could feel it, although it was minimal. In spite of this, the bed still displays impressive bounce.
If you have mobility problems, moving around in a reclined position can be challenging. Traditional memory foam frequently caused a lot of sinkage that it made it challenging to move around. However, if you have too much bounce, it’s easy to disturb rest.
You will face some sinkage using the Alexander Signature Hybrid because of its soft foam uppermost layers. But this sinking feeling differs from what you would obtain with a more conventional memory foam mattress as it’s reduced by the bed’s supportive pocketed coil system. This means you will sink, but will still have the ability to move around easily and get out of the bed without too much effort. While there is some sinkage here, it is not as dramatic as it would be about a typical memory foam bed. This makes for great pressure relief without that stuck-in-the-bed experience.
The inner-spring coil support base of the Alexander Signature Hybrid functions to fortify its edges. This provides a level sleeping surface across the entire mattress and helps prevent sagging and sinkage at the edge of the bed. The spring coils are great at providing that firm core you want. When I moved in a variety of positions, I felt very well-supported. I can feel and you could actually witness where I do sink in a quite a bit, but the sinkage from the mattress abruptly ends where the spring coils start. In spite of the soft foam top layers, this mattress is extremely supportive, due to the eight inches of pocketed coils at its core. It is very effortless to get in and out of the bed, and I am well–supported when I lay on the border, a great plus for sleep partners.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid sleeps relatively cool. The inner-spring coils allow sufficient airflow, aiding to diminish body warmth. The foam layers, which usually trap heat, are treated with copper and cooling gel to counteract this frequent problem. This bed is a good match for people who prefer to sleep cool. This hybrid does a fantastic job of isolating and dispersing heat, resulting in a sleeping experience that is wonderfully cool.

Once an Alexander Signature Hybrid mattress is manufactured, it’s compressed, vacuum-sealed in plastic and delivered to your front door in a box that is marked. Every time a mattress is compressed and vacuum-sealed, it has a tendency to emit a temporary odor when it is unboxed. This smell is called “off-gassing.” You can expect to experience this with the Alexander Signature Hybrid, but the odor should fade quickly.
