Alexander Hybrid Luxury Contour: The Alexander Hybrid Luxury Contour has a comfort system containing 3 layers: a cover made of 2.5 PCF copper-infused, phase-change gel memory foam; a core layer of 3 PCF polyfoam; and a base layer of 4 PCF memory foam. Latex Mattress: The Latex Mattress is offered in ‘Blended Latex’ and ‘Organic Latex’ designs; the designs share the same general composition, but differ substantially in terms of price-point with the Organic model being more pricey. Furthermore, the Latex Mattress is offered in 3 firmness options. The ‘Soft w/topper’ variant has a comfort layer made with soft Dunlop latex, as well as a 3 inch Dunlop latex topper. This option is more pricey because of the inclusion of the topper. The ‘Medium’ and ‘Firm’ variants forgo the topper; the ‘Medium’ has a soft Dunlop latex comfort layer and a firm Dunlop latex support core, while the ‘Firm’ uses a firm Dunlop latex comfort layer and a soft Dunlop latex support center.

In my opinion, the Alex Signature Series (memory foam) and the Alex Signature Hybrid are impressive mattresses, especially at their price points.

Construction

The three varying firmness settings of the Alexander Signature Hybrid all use the same general construction, but with somewhat varying foams and densities. Each bed begins with 8 inches of individually-pocketed support coils. The second layer is 1 inch of “SmartFlow” support polyfoam, that’s made to improve airflow and aids with heat retention. Each firmness level uses 3 PCF (pounds per cubic foot foam within this layer. The subsequent layer is 1.5” of either 2.5 PCF copper-treated “Energex” polyfoam (Plush), 3.5 PCF copper-treated Energex polyfoam (Medium) or 4.5 PCF slow-recovery memory foam (Luxury Firm). The final layer is 1.5 inches of “TitanChil” cooling polyfoam. The bed cover is 1.5” of 4 PCF gel-infused memory foam within a quilted, cooling fabric. This offers a soft feel.

Firmness

The Alexander Signature Hybrid is produced in 3 firmness levels: Plush (3), Medium (5) and a Luxury Firm (8). Firmness is measured on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the firmest and 1 being the least firm. You can choose between Plush, Medium, and Luxury firm. Weight will make an impact on what works for you. Generally, heavier people fare better with firmer mattresses while lighter people generally discover they can obtain more hug and shape on plusher mattresses.

Motion Transfer

Hybrids don’t isolate motion as well as all-foam beds usually do, due to the fact that springs allow movement to more easily transfer across the surface of the mattress. The Alexander Signature Hybrid, though, has various foam layers above its inner-springs. These layers aid the bed absorb movement to a sizeable extent. As soon as I tossed and turned next to my spouse, you could not see much motion in her body. She detailed that she could feel it, but it was minimal. Despite this, the mattress still features exceptional bounce.

Sinkage

In case you have mobility difficulties, moving around while lying down may be challenging. Classic memory foam usually caused so much sinkage that it made it tough to move around. However, if you have too much bounce, it’s easy to disturb rest.

You may face some sinkage with the Alexander Signature Hybrid because of its plush foam top layers. But this sinking feeling is different from what you would obtain with a more traditional memory foam bed as it is mitigated by the mattress’ supportive individually-wrapped coil system. Meaning you’ll sink, but will still be able to move around conveniently and get out of the mattress without too much work. While there’s some sinkage here, it is not as dramatic as it would be about a normal memory foam mattress. This makes for exceptional pressure relief with no stuck-in-the-bed feeling.

Edge Support

The inner-spring coil support core of the Alexander Signature Hybrid works to reinforce its edges. This provides a level sleeping surface across the entire bed and helps prevent sagging and sinkage at the perimeter of the mattress. The spring coils are great at setting that firm base you need. When I moved in a variety of positions, I felt very well-supported. I could feel and you could actually see where I do sink in a quite a bit, but the sinkage in the mattress ends where the inner-spring coils start. In spite of the soft foam uppermost layers, this mattress is quite supportive, thanks to the eight inches of individually-wrapped coils at its base. It’s super easy to get in and out of the mattress, and I am wellsupported when I lay on the border, a big plus for sleep spouses.

Heat Retention

The Alexander Signature Hybrid sleeps relatively cool. The inner-spring coils permit ample airflow, helping to diminish body warmth. The foam layers, which in most cases trap heat, are treated with cooling gel and copper to counteract this common problem. This mattress is a fantastic pick for those who need to sleep cool. This hybrid does a great job of isolating and dispersing heat, leading to a resting experience that is marvelously cool.

Off-Gassing

After an Alexander Signature Hybrid mattress is made, it is compressed, vacuum-sealed in plastic and delivered to your front door in a box that is marked. Every time a mattress is compressed and vacuum-sealed, it has a tendency to produce a temporary odor when it is opened. This odor is called “off-gassing.” You should anticipate to see this with the Alexander Signature Hybrid, but the smell should fade fast.

100 Night Sleep Trial

Nest provides a 100 night sleep trial on all their mattresses. The company expects you to keep the bed for at least 30 days before initiating a return. If you are unhappy with the mattress for any reason at any stage between 30 to 100 days, you can agree to donate or return it for a full refund of the purchase price. Any delivery costs will not be refunded. If you decide to go the refund path, Nest will arrange for the mattress to be picked up and donated to a charity. You willl just need to provide proof that the mattress has indeed been picked up and the organization will issue you a full refund. Nest Bedding Glassdoor

The guarantee is non-prorated, so the company will pay to replace or repair any faulty mattresses, however old it is. Along with the lifetime guarantee, Nest also provides what they call a Lifetime Comfort Guarantee, which is pretty exceptional. Basically, when the trial period ends, if you suddenly choose you don’t like the mattress, the organization allows you to swap the mattress to get a firmer, softer, larger or smaller model
