This option is more pricey because of the addition of the topper. In my opinion, the Alexander Signature Hybrid and the Alexander Signature Series (memory foam) are great mattresses, especially at their price points.

The 3 different firmness settings of the Alexander Signature Hybrid all use the same general construction, but with somewhat different foams and densities. Each bed starts with 8 inches of individually-pocketed support coils. The next layer is 1 inch of “SmartFlow” support polyfoam, that’s intended to add airflow and helps with heat retention. Each firmness level uses 3 PCF (pounds per cubic foot foam within this layer. The subsequent layer is 1.5” of either 2.5 PCF copper-infused “Energex” polyfoam (Plush), 3.5 PCF copper-treated Energex polyfoam (Medium) or 4.5 PCF slow-recovery memory foam (Luxury Firm). The last layer is 1.5 inches of “TitanChil” cooling polyfoam. The bed cover is 1.5” of 4 PCF gel-infused memory foam within a quilted, cooling fabric. This offers a soft texture.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid is produced in three firmness levels: Plush (3), Medium (5) and a Luxury Firm (8). Firmness level is measured on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the most firm and 1 being the least firm. You can choose between Plush, Medium, and Luxury firm. Weight is crucial on what you would prefer. Generally, heavier people fare better with firmer mattresses while lighter people generally find they can obtain more hug and shape on plusher mattresses.
Hybrids don’t isolate movement as well as all-foam mattresses usually do, due to the fact that inner-springs permit movement to more easily transfer across the surface of the mattress. The Alexander Signature Hybrid, however, has several foam layers above its inner-springs. These foam layers help the bed absorb motion to a sizeable extent. When I tossed and turned next to my colleague, you could not see much movement in her body. She said that she could feel it, although detection was minimal. In spite of this, the bed still features great bounce.
If you have mobility difficulties, moving around while lying down can be challenging. Traditional memory foam frequently caused a lot of sinkage that it made it challenging to move around. But if you have too much rebound, it’s easy to disturb rest.
You will experience some sinkage using the Alexander Signature Hybrid because of its plush foam uppermost layers. However, this sinking feeling differs from what you’d achieve with a more traditional memory foam bed as it’s reduced by the bed’s supportive pocketed coil system. This means you’ll sink, but will still be able to move around conveniently and get out of bed without too much work. While there is some sinkage here, it is not quite as striking as it would be on a conventional memory foam bed. This makes for exceptional pressure relief with no stuck-in-the-bed feeling.
The inner-spring coil support base of the Alexander Signature Hybrid works to reinforce its edges. This gives a flat sleeping surface across the whole mattress and helps prevent sagging and sinkage around the perimeter of the mattress. The inner-spring coils are great at providing that firm foundation you want. When I moved in various positions, I felt fairly well-supported. I could feel and you can actually see where I really do sink in a quite a bit, but the sinkage in the bed ends where the spring coils start. Despite the soft foam uppermost layers, this mattress is quite supportive, due to the eight inches of pocketed coils at its foundation. It’s super effortless to get in and out of the bed, and I am well–supported when I lie on the border, a great asset for sleeping spouses.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid is relatively cool. The spring coils allow enough airflow, helping to reduce body heat. The foam layers, which normally trap warmth, are treated with cooling gel and copper to counteract this frequent issue. This mattress is a good fit for people who prefer to sleep cool. This hybrid does a great job of isolating and dispersing heat, leading to a resting experience that is marvelously cool.

Once an Alexander Signature Hybrid mattress is manufactured, it is compressed, vacuum-sealed in plastic and delivered to your front door in a box that is marked. Every time a mattress is compressed and vacuum-sealed, it has a tendency to produce a temporary smell when it’s unboxed. This smell is called “off-gassing.” You can anticipate to see this with the Alexander Signature Hybrid, but the odor should fade immediately.
