Moreover, the Latex Mattress is offered in three firmness options. The ‘Soft w/topper’ variant has a comfort layer made with soft Dunlop latex, as well as a 3 inch Dunlop latex topper. This option is more pricey due to the addition of the topper. The ‘Medium’ and ‘Firm’ options forgo the topper; the ‘Medium’ has a soft Dunlop latex comfort layer and a firm Dunlop latex support core, while the ‘Firm’ has a firm Dunlop latex comfort layer and a soft Dunlop latex support core.

In my opinion, the Alexander Signature Hybrid and the Alexander Signature Series (memory foam) are exceptional mattresses, especially at their price points.

Construction

The 3 distinct firmness levels of the Alexander Signature Hybrid all make use of the same basic structure, but with slightly varying foams and densities. Each bed begins with 8 inches of individually-pocketed support coils. The next layer is 1 inch of “SmartFlow” support polyfoam, that is made to add airflow and aids with heat retention. Each firmness level utilizes 3 PCF (lbs per cubic foot foam in this layer. The subsequent layer is 1.5” of either 2.5 PCF copper-treated “Energex” polyfoam (Plush), 3.5 PCF copper-treated Energex polyfoam (Medium) or 4.5 PCF slow-recovery memory foam (Luxury Firm). The last layer is 1.5” of “TitanChil” cooling polyfoam. The mattress cover is 1.5” of 4 PCF gel-infused memory foam inside a quilted, cooling fabric. This offers a pillowtop-like feel.

Firmness

The Alexander Signature Hybrid is offered in three firmness levels: Plush (3), Medium (5) and a Luxury Firm (8). Firmness level is based on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the most firm and 1 being the least firm. You can pick between Plush, Medium, and Luxury firm. Weight is going to make an impact on what you would prefer. Generally, heavier people fare better with firmer beds while lighter people generally find they can get more hug and contour on plusher mattresses.

Motion Transfer

Hybrids do not isolate movement as well as all-foam mattresses typically do, because springs permit movement to more easily transfer across the surface of the bed. The Alexander Signature Hybrid, though, has various foam layers above its springs. These foam layers aid the mattress absorb motion to a significant extent. As soon as I turned and tossed next to my partner, you couldn’t identify much movement in her body. She detailed that she could feel it, but it was minimal. In spite of this, the mattress still possesses good bounce.

Sinkage

If you have mobility problems, moving around while lying down can be hard. Classic memory foam usually caused so much sinkage that it made it tough to move around. But if you have too much rebound, it’s easy to disturb sleep.

You may encounter some sinkage using the Alexander Signature Hybrid due to its plush foam uppermost layers. But this sinking feeling differs from what you’d achieve with a more conventional memory foam bed as it is mitigated by the mattress’ supportive pocketed coil system. Meaning you’ll sink, but will still have the ability to move around conveniently and get out of the mattress without too much work. While there’s some sinkage here, it’s not as striking as it would be on a normal memory foam mattress. This makes for exceptional pressure relief with no stuck-in-the-bed feeling.

Edge Support

The inner-spring coil support base of the Alexander Signature Hybrid works to reinforce its perimeter. This produces a level sleeping surface across the whole mattress and helps prevent sinkage and sagging around the edge of the mattress. The spring coils are great at setting that solid core you require. When I moved in a variety of positions, I felt pretty well-supported. I could feel and you can actually witness where I do sink in a quite a bit, but the sinkage in the bed suddenly ends where the inner-spring coils start. In spite of the soft foam top layers, this bed is very supportive, due to the 8 inches of individually-wrapped coils at its base. It’s quite easy to get in and out of the bed, and I’m wellsupported when I lay on the border, a big benefit for sleep spouses.

Heat Retention

The Alexander Signature Hybrid sleeps quite cool. The inner-spring coils permit sufficient airflow, aiding to reduce body heat. The foam layers, which usually trap heat, are infused with copper and cooling gel to prevent this frequent problem. This mattress is a great match for people who prefer to rest cool. This hybrid does a wonderful job of isolating and dispersing heat, leading to a sleeping experience that is marvelously cool.

Off-Gassing

After an Alexander Signature Hybrid mattress is created, it’s compressed, vacuum-sealed in plastic and delivered to your doorstep in a box that is marked. Every time a mattress is compressed and vacuum-sealed, it tends to have a temporary smell when it is unboxed. This odor is known as “off-gassing.” You should expect to experience this with the Alexander Signature Hybrid, however, the smell should disappear quickly.

100 Night Sleep Trial

Nest offers a 100 night sleep trial on all their mattresses. Nest Bedding requires you to maintain the item for at least thirty days prior to initiating a return. If you’re not pleased with the bed for any reason at any point between 30 to 100 nights, you can agree to donate or return it for a complete refund of the purchase price. Any delivery costs are non-refundable. If you choose to go the refund route, the company will arrange for the bed to be picked up and donated to a local charity. You’lll just need to give proof that the bed has indeed been picked up and Nest will give you a full refund. Nest Bedding Alexander Review
